Ive been tagged in these things several times so decided to just do it all together in one post. 10 books that changed my life as a writer and a person (in no particular order): 1. Zen in the Art of Writing by Ray Bradbury (Im not alone! Or crazy. Just a writer) 2. Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman (magic stories can be for grown ups too!) 3. The Winter Prince by Elizabeth Wein (the most powerful book ending ever) 4. The Time Travelers Wife by Audrey Niffenegger (killer diller character details) 5. Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice (my introduction, at 17, to a seductive world) 6. The Golden Compass by Phillip Pullman (rewriting the world, but with dark magic? YES) 7. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald (poetic, musical, surreal writing at its best) 8. Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer (hysterically funny is okay- and profitable!) 9. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern (the best love story, despite that awful last chapter) 10. Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella (laugh until you cry funny, and about a girl I relate to!) (special mention- Fight Club, and High Fidelity) 15 movies that stick with me (in no particular order) 1. Phantom of the Opera (Gerard Butler/Emmy Rossum remake) 2. Inglorious Basterds 3. The Devil Wears Prada 4. How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days 5. Big Fish 6. Almost Famous 7. Edward Scissorhands 8. The Fifth Element 9. Back to the Future trilogy 10. Count of Monte Cristo (Jim Caveziel/Guy Piece remake) 11. The Labyrinth 12. The Illusionist 13. Midnight in Paris 14. The Land Before Time 15. Star Wars Episode 4, 5 & 6 And bonus-- JURASSIC PARK! Because... dinosaurs. Honestly, seeing everything like this is pretty telling of my creative influences haha. Ill tag Dusty Alexander because I dont think shes done it yet, and anyone else who is up for it!
