Ive been telling people how Russia is going to kill the petrodollar for months now and it is finally being more widely reported. The U.S. Dollar is the currency the world uses for petrol but Russia and China just announced plans to only use/accept rubles which may force many other nations to do the same in effect crippling our economy and costing us trillions. On another note if Russia is able to blackmail other countries to give up usable shipping ports perhaps even blackmailing the United States into giving Russia some Alaskan ports back, Russia will become the unchallenged world super power. Resources + land + population + usable ports = power. Russias only weakness is that as big as they are most of their coastline is useless. This is what has held them back from dominating the world economically and militarily. Our only real hope is to abandon petroleum as a fuel source but even if we did we would still be dependent on oil for the plastics we use in our cars and our kitchens. Obviously this is going to end badly either in war or in a large scale economic collapse.
