Ive been texting a few but wanted to give you an update on Mike ... Last night was really bad, more pain meds, zero ability to walk.. I was pushing him around on our ottoman with wheels and then he barely crawled up the steps backwards... Hard for the kids to see / understand. We made it to the back and spine specialist today (still barely walking and the place had no wheel chair to offer me. Really???!!). But between me and a cane, we made it in. They did multiple injections into his spine (he said that sucked) and he can walk! This is however likely related to the numbing agent used and will ware off soon. But the steroids injected should show improvement. We are home with a new slew of pain management meds and are meeting with one if not two neurosurgeons tomorrow. It was suggested that he have a back up plan ready to go. His level of pain is not the concern but weakness and numbness is. His eyes look sleepy but hes a good patient. There are now 3 of them in the living room telling me to get them stuff!... But in sickness and in health, I promise to care for his chickens, to clean his garage and to chop wood to keep us warm this winter, oh and mow the lawn... We were leaving today to stay at Revel in AC and fill Jacobs dreams of seeing the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds..... They just refunded our entire stay... if only I could find another air show for my broken hearted little boy.
