Ive been thinking about this all weekend. Friday Dewey, Gus, and I - TopicsExpress

Ive been thinking about this all weekend. Friday Dewey, Gus, and I were going into the Saraland Walmart. When we pulled into the parking lot there was a homeless man with a sign standing on the grass next to the red light. The boys asked if he was homeless, I said probably. They asked what he was doing, I said probably trying to collect some money. They asked if we could give him some. I didnt have any cash, plus I dont normally give money to them. All through the store they kept asking about him. When I checked out I had to get cash for a bday card, and they saw it. So when we left they begged to give the man some. All I had left was a 5. I stopped next to him, Gus got out and handed it to the man and told him Im sorry youre lonely. The man kinda half hugged him and thanked him. The boys were beaming. It made them feel so good to do something kind for someone. So, Im trying to think of something they can do that will teach them about volunteering or donating to people that need it. Something small, age appropriate. Any suggestions?
