Ive been thinking about this really hard since yesterday. My six year old 1st grade grandson was suspended from school for 1 1/2 days because another student punched him and he punched him back. Now what bothers me is that the school is sending a message to these children that if they want to go home just punch someone. I told the new principal that. I also ask about in house suspension, he told me that is for lesser offences. Well, guess what If it happens again it wont be for a slight puch because his family has told him to wear that person out. If your gonna be suspended for taking up for yourself you may as well make sure no one else is going to bother you. My grandchildren WILL NOT BE BULLIED. As for our schools they have been heading south for a long time and boy have how much farther can they go. They should have kept the old administration in because there wasnt all this mess going on now. Also, did any parent receive the student handbook for this year? We didnt get any. Now how are you supposed to review the rules with the kids if the school hasnt given parents any guidance to it? What happened to 3 strikes your out instead of fouling a person on the first one. Sorry folks Im just mad about the whole situation. AND parents cant walk their children to their classrooms anymore. What happened to parent friendly, I guess it went south too. But Im proud to say that where I work at we are very parent/family friendly. Watch the paper for some of OUR events. Enough said.
