Ive been thinking alot about the Ballot Measure 2 that Alaskans will vote on in November. Alot of the comments I get in return deal with medical marijuana and the potential it has in that arena. I can go down that path. I do think there is merit in engaging in good discussion about that and furthering the reach for those under a doctors care to utilize it. HOWEVER, that is not what Ballot Measure 2 is. So what would happen if we worked harder to expand our medical marijuana laws and provide relief for folks under a physicians care? There is room to ask a legislator to draft something along those lines. And I think, possible. But I see nothing good in Ballot Measure 2 for Alaskans as a whole. We are not ready, we have no plan, the impact will be dreadful on our already fragile social services networks, and our communities will suffer, in my opinion. Ill be voting NO on 2 for those reasons.
