Ive been thinking too much today. Bei was watching a documentary about savant syndrome, primarily high functioning savants. Then they talked about how not every onr who has it is born with it. Some of them aquire it through brain damage, paricularly the left hemisphere. They also talked about the increase in creativity, pattern recognition, music ability, attachment to numbers and detail, and an inability to shut it off... I looked around myself at the piles of notebooks filled with technical drawings, lyrics, 462 mathematically derived heptatonic scales in the key of C, ramblings on metaphysics and ethics, theories on the interconnectedness of everything... ion propulsion drives, black hole physics, blueprints for houses and cars, schematics, algorithms, complex notes on dust particle movement.... My seemingly large inability to interact appropriately and functionally with people... Then my eyes drift to the numbers floating in the air around me, the geometric shapes, and complex patterns that pop out in colors... And I cant help wondering if the doctors have been medicating me for the wrong thing.... Two near death traumatic brain injuries on the left side with the symptoms and gifts (curses) that have developed since the accidents. I know they can use fMRI to detect it, but I wonder how much it would cost to find out if I am... I mean... if 1 thing can explain all the symptoms instead of the 6... I should prefer the most simple model, right?
