Ive been thrown a bit of a sledgehammer on my income this Independence Day Weekend. I got an email the other day that Yahoo Contributor Network is closing down effective July 31. I have about 150 articles posted there that Im having to move since they will be eliminated effective 7/31/14. Ive been thinking about Hub Pages but they dont let writers republish their articles to other outlets which limits what I can do with my work so thats a bit of a limitation I dont know if I can live with. Yahoo was awesome to write for since I could also use my articles in personal blog posts, ebooks, & other magazines. The good news is that I havent been depending on Yahoo Contributor Network for a long time as a major income source, but it was still a nice little source for mad money for the little extras I like to do for my family. Im thinking about expanding my blog and maybe starting a digital magazine that I sell ads for as well as publishing a few Ebooks for Amazons Kindle Store. Overall though, Im still a little shocked at what has happened after 5 years of writing for Yahoo. Any other suggestions on what to do with these 150 articles is appreciated if anyone has been out there working as a freelance writer or if you just have a good idea that youd like to suggest to me.
