Ive been tied up with a few things lately that have left me unavailable but for a day or so, Im going to be visiting with some friends down from Michigan and working on finishing up one of my novels. This one is a story of political intrigue based on current affairs. This one has allowed my fertile little mind to run amok and I am enjoying it as it unfolds. People will ask how a writer brings a story from start to finish and some have a set formula. I detested Agatha Christes stuff as she routinely would not introduce the villain into the story until ten pages from the end. Stephen King normally trots out all of his main characters within the first 50 to 75 pages. Your job is to figure out who dun it from there. I need to have complete quiet and normally need to be alone to write effectively. I find it strange that after I become the novel, it is my fingers that begin to write and my brain is reading as I go and telling me, WOW! Thats pretty good! or THAT was a neat passage. A definite phrase to remember. I sometimes think my fingers have an imagination of their own. As a brief intermission, one of our local writing mavens sent out an email to a site some of you writers might like. Im going to join... it doesnt cost anything... just to watch its development. They discuss various topics to help writers. I havent yet looked at it but Im sure one of the topics will be writers block. Ive never had it but than again, my fingers got not much else to contemplate except to wonder when well have time to write some more.
