Ive been told (thanks Tim Elmer) that I must post 10 random things you might not know about me, so here goes! 1. I am the middle of 5 children to my parents and I live in the same town that I grew up in - Dracut (just under 4 miles from the house I grew up in). I didnt plan it that way... it just sort of happened. And thats ok. 2. My most memorable childhood Christmas gift was an Easy Bake Oven. I really do not cook or bake much now. 3. I took my first flight with a commercial airline when I was 32-years-old and it was a British Airways red-eye to London. I was horrified -I white-knuckled it with eyes wide-open through the entire 6.5 hour flight. Needless to say Im over that fear now. 4. The most unusual place Ive visited for business is the island of Malta - a small island near Sicily. Its almost twice the size of Washington DC. 5. My first job out of high school was at the Prince Macaroni Manufacturing Company in Lowell. I got the job through my fathers network. My sister had interviewed for it first but turned it down for another position so I interviewed and landed the position of receptionist and assistant to the HR Director. As it turned out, I met the man who would become my husband (for 33 years now) there. Funny how things work out. Thanks Dad! 6. I was horrified of dogs as a kid and teen. Not at all now. 7. I cant swim. God knows Ive tried, but I think I was just born without the swim gene. But Ive always loved boats and being out on the water - a lake, or the ocean. Go figure. 8. I will not watch movies or shows that have graphic violence. I like to laugh or learn while watching movies or tv, but dont find violence or horror entertaining at all. My family knows this about me and will take it into account when recommending movies to watch. 9. I have a legitimate fear of heights, especially when I am up high and can see directly below - like walking across a bridge that is not paved, or climbing up bleacher seats. My legs turn to rubber and I have to look up until I make it across/up. 10. Ive spent most of my career in bleeding-edge technology companies, and I have made a pretty good living from learning about new and emerging technology. But in my personal life... I am not one to embrace new technology right away at all. I like to wait until all the kinks are worked out by everyone else. If you like this status, Ill give you a number so you can do the same.
