Ive been up all night! Ive been HAD by my lawyers who are totally MISrepresenting me, NOT hearing me at all, and putting words in my mouth that are untruths! What do you do when youve spent over $10,000 you dont have for NOTHING and theyve just sent UNTRUE paperwork to the other party? Ive never dealt with lawyers, and I am 100% honest, because thats who I am. Theyve tried to get me to sign untruths, trying to make the other party look horrible. I send it back to them saying I wont sign it because its not true. They charge me hundreds of dollars at a time for paperwork that is not right, nor is it what I would expect! Im on my 4th paralegal and every time they give me a new one, I get charged all over again for them to review and try to catch up! They tell me to wait, and the lawyer goes on maternity leave... so I wait, and then get charged thousands of dollars during that waiting time while an interim lawyer who I never contacted, cause I was waiting, and her paralegal decide to have meetings and review paperwork they never worked on! Im drowning over here and need to finish this divorce so I dont go completely under, and theyre not advising me about ANYTHING! Now they sent the asset package with untruths on it, including hiring a Realtor I never even discussed with them and saying I want to proceed with her! Excuse me??? So.... has anyone fired a lawyer mid-divorce AFTER they sent out untruth paperwork to the other party? All I want is a fair divorce and for my kids and me to move on where we can afford to live. It didnt have to be nasty! It didnt have to cost this much! Unfortunately, I cant do it myself because hes in jail and I need someone to handle it. :( Because of the restraining order, I cant do it. Any advice? I cant believe Im turning to FB for advice, but there has got to be some of you out there that have gone through this! What a pickle! And NONE of this was because I wanted to! It just has to be done because of the circumstances and being able to survive financially.
