Ive been waiting to say this since injury and bad luck has struck - TopicsExpress

Ive been waiting to say this since injury and bad luck has struck my LA Lakers once again with our prized rookie Julius Randle. Most everyone of my ball buddies know how Ive gushed all summer with optimism and hope, primarily offered by this brilliant young talent which our team actually picked high from the draft (and without purposely tanking-- a fact with which Im proud)! But then, after grueling months to years of frustration and anticipation, the season-opener comes, and poof! Out for season, everything Koko-Krunch. I will never forget Kobes injury. And the one that followed in the wasted year after. Then we have Nash, ruled out for season, effectively retired with the last straw on his back (almost literally), because he carried a bag too heavy (literally). Dwight Howard never really got to 100%, both physically and mentally, while he was in LA, and now I hate him forever. Ryan Kelly, one of our younger, finer prospects, just came back in a game recently, and is now out for another eight weeks for pulling his hamstring again. Nick Young, both our top scorer and the leagues leading bench scorer last season, was out for an estimated eight weeks too to start the season. And thats not even the whole story. LA Lakers: Lucky-ass Lakers. Yet, as die-hard a fan as can be in this stupid fickle world of butterflies in bandwagons, I remain true to my purple and gold colors. Yes, Im still a Laker, probably always will be, as Ive been for the past decade (and a Maverick a distant but convenient second). And now, as we ride out another long season since our last championship in 2010, I easily know whos not. Im not changing teams just because youre telling me, Ang hina naman ng Lakers eh! (You think I dont know that?) or Wala na si Kobe. (Really?) I was reminded today that there is still nothing for me like the experience of watching a Lakers game on live time, and God, I missed that feeling of winning. Thats exactly the reason why youre reading this: I finally saw the Lakers won! The aforementioned Nick Young, in his first game back, immediately brought the swag to wake the teams bench up. Its still tantalizing to watch Jeremy Lin when he gets comfortable attacking. I hope Jordan Hill continues to improve and Ed Davis maxes out his on-court potential by avoiding foul trouble. Even Carlos Boozers got-awful defense was excused with flashes of his past offensive brilliance. Gotta give credit where credits due. Then, Kobe Bryant. 32,000 points. Against the Hawks, this was one of the many type of games you need to see, if you even watch NBA or basketball at all, to witness the greatness of Kobe. Constantly communicating, setting screens, moving off-/on-ball, letting the game come to him while letting his teammates thrive, and still getting his (at the start of the game, I knew exactly what he needed to hit the milestone only three other players in NBA history have passed) because he didnt have to force anything-- I hope this is the way the Lakers always play. Sorry, not sorry, for seemingly being so dramatic in this post. If youre annoyed, I will do this even more if it means the Lakers win more... Lets go, Lakers! (Lakers suck!) Lets go, Kobe! (Kobe sucks!)
