Ive been working with cosplayers in my art since at least 2001 and so many of my friends are incredibly talented and dedicated at this craft too. It blows my mind what they can do. I truly respect the passion that goes into it, its not any different than the passion that goes into our art as comic book creators. Its a symbiotic relationship that benefits all of us at conventions and fandom on the whole for everyone as far as Im concerned. We cant control how the convention organizers promote us at the events and who gets the bigger spotlight or most attention but whatever gets more fans and families through the door works for me. Theres plenty of room for everybody too. Either you learn to evolve and adapt in this industry or youre gonna get run over and be bitter and before you know it youll be yelling get off my lawn for the rest of your career -
