Ive come to the conclusion that some folks just want to argue, or debate, or whatever label they want to put on their penchant for bringing up points or opinions or information that creates ongoing dialogue that gets absolutely nowhere. So I guess my promise to myself for this coming new year is to say to those people look that stuff up for yourself, do your own digging, search the web to your hearts content, because I dont have the time, nor the desire to do for you what you can do for yourself. I mean seriously folks, if I post something up here on my timeline that I think is significant or that I feel is important, that means I have searched, read, talked enough about whatever subject, to convince MYSELF that its valid enough for my attention. Admittedly, sometimes I react to something and post too quickly. If you the reader disagree with it, well fine! If you want more information because you want to come back at me and prove to me that Im a lunatic, thats fine too. Just dont expect me to play along with your egocentric need to let the world know how much you know and how freaking intelligent you are. If youve found something that disproves what I think is a truth then post me a link. Ill read it and decide if I need to re-adjust. In other words, I wont do your searching for you. If you have access to a computer, then you have the same ability to educate and entertain yourself as I have. So my intent is just to present. Its not my job to change or convince or debate, or argue. I dont usually make New Year Resolutions but this year if I make one it will be to practice allowing others to be whatever they choose, to believe whatever they choose, and to create for themselves their own reality without my interference. I wont always find that to be an easy task but I will do my best and that is good enough for me.
