Ive decided Im going to start a blog... But no blog set up yet, so Im going to post on here for now :-) I’m feeling very loved this morning… lots of amazing comments from last night’s Facebook post and it’s inspired me to start writing about my journey… so here we are on Day 1! I went out for a walk this morning, which is something I started doing a few weeks ago when I needed to break the pattern of waking up feeling pretty lousy every morning. After doing Richard Wilkins and Liz Ivory’s 5-day Broadband Consciousness course a couple of years ago, I’ve had ongoing coaching from Liz which has made a massive difference. One of her suggestions recently was to drag myself out of bed the very second I woke up and go for a walk to get me out of my script and feel more positive. So that’s what I started doing. This morning I was feeling a bit ropey as I got out of bed, a few weird dreams in the night and I wasn’t exactly feeling on top of the world. So I went for my walk, taking Lola the Labrador with me. One amazing by-product of my morning walks has been a miracle with Lola’s obedience - she used to pull like crazy on the lead, but by taking her out on her own (rather than with Jess, our GSP/Staffy cross), I’ve actually managed to train her to walk properly to heel, with a completely slack lead! Result! The weekend has made a massive difference to me and i must have been super-observant as I walked, I saw some amazing things - they looked amazing to me anyway :-) First off, I spotted a snail in the grass, not just any snail but a particularly beautiful shell. None of this grey boring stuff. Then I noticed two more that were equally beautiful. Then, as I reached the top of the little hill where I walked Lola today, I noticed a very long car transporter train going past in the distance… nothing special about that you might say, but I noticed it and… and then I spotted hundreds of birds flying around and landing on the electricity pylon. All little everyday things but they made me appreciate not being dead this morning - if I hadn’t achieved that vital goal, nothing else would matter really would it? I finished my walk as I always do, going to sit by a little stream that’s near our house and just reflecting on my day. There’s a rather steep bank to climb down, so it’s a good thing that Lola doesn’t pull any more! Today I reflected on all the things that I’m going to be doing - focusing very much on my business today. A few invoices to chase, more things to delegate (since I’m in the process of firing myself!), getting our operational processes better defined, and then spending most of the day working on business development and partnerships. My big realisation over the last few weeks is that we are only as good as the partners we attract, so that’s going to be a major focus for me as we go into October. My other challenge today is to stop working by 6pm - I really do have to get my work/life balance right, so let’s see how I do! And as I said on my post last night, I’d love to know how I can help. Has anything I’ve written here prompted any thoughts or questions? I’d love to hear from you :-) Hope you all have a great day!
