Ive decided that I want to start recognizing educators and admins in our region that are utilizing technology effectively and setting examples for the rest of us to follow. Tonight, I want to recognize a principal that strives to reach parents (and students), teachers, and the community to keep them informed about everything happening at her school. In the interest of full disclosure I have to state she is the principal at my childs school. However, even if she werent she would be worthy of being recognized for the effort she is making to communicate effectively. Ms. Jennifer Hannah, the principal at Coosa Valley Elementary in the Pell City School System, is setting the bar high for her peers in the region. She utilizes email, Remind (text messaging service), FaceBook, phone casts, the school website, and paper to communicate. In short, if you are a teacher or parent at this school you probably have no excuse for not knowing whats going on, when things are due, and whats expected. Thats the way it should be at ALL schools but, unfortunately, isnt. Kudos to Ms. Jennifer Hannah for making communication a priority by using multiple modern tools. Your efforts are appreciated and noted! Is your principal going the extra mile in the area of communication and/or using 21st century tools? If so, post their name and school here so we can recognize their efforts.
