Ive decided that my least favorite thing and biggest pet peeve is explaining to some religious fanatic why we arent going to teach intelligent design, or whatever pseudo-secular name it has next, in schools. Also, I find it funny how they can call evolution a fairy tale, but will literally lose their shit if someone tells them Jesus is a fairy tale. Calling evolution a fairy tale is every bit as offensive, if not MORE so than calling a religious text a fairy tale. You are insulting some of the greatest minds who have brought you SO many comforts that you take for granted every day of your life. Remember a time before reason? Remember what religious fanaticism did to Galileo and Copernicus? Or really anyone who defied Aristotle or the Church? Yeah, I think removing God from the classroom was the biggest advancement in human achievement. And none of this has anything to do with whether or not there is a god or Jesus, or anything. Just simply put, creationism is NOT science. Doesnt necessarily mean it isnt true (it isnt), just that it is not for schools. There is NO scientific reason to believe in any sort of design, therefore is a theory built on subjective ideas, not objective observation and careful testing. Stahp it.
