Ive decided to repost my response to a very well-meaning - TopicsExpress

Ive decided to repost my response to a very well-meaning advise/reminder from a dear friend for me to filter my comments, be more sober and not to add to the negativity around: Marilou, yes - labs na labs talaga kita; and I do listen to you. You also know that normally, tawa-tawa lang talaga ako as I try to find humor in almost everything around us. You also know very well that I do not have a poisoned tongue; nor do I use insulting or castigating language, especially in public. But I take exception to this case, and other similar cases, especially to the overall nauseating developments that have been unfolding in our public/official realm. I really cannot take it anymore. Its way, way too much beyond my threshold level. I cannot anymore hold my tongue and anger any longer. We have been too docile and subservient too long. We choose not to speak against all these abuses and anomalies, thinking and hoping that the things will resolve by themselves quietly and voluntarily. We prefer to turn a blind eye on abusive public behavior because we do not want to make trouble. But, as we also probably realize by now, this does not work. For these kinds of people, they take our silence and smiles as an acceptance of their stench - even as they insult our intelligence and sense of decency - as a people, as a country, as a culture. This culture of impunity must stop!!! Those who think that they can simply get away with recklessness and irresponsible behavior, merely because they are public figures, or close to power deserves to be shamed - in public! Criticism, in whatever form, seems to be the only language they can understand. Media people, most especially because of their wide public exposure, must take care that they also protect our integrity as a people when they speak on the air, or write their articles. They have no right to shame us before the world, and add to the aggravation of distorted impressions Filipinos all over the world (the OFWs, particularly) must bear. Now, at a time when the country is facing so many difficulties and challenges to move forward, what do you think is the effect and impact of (K)-oring on our NATIONAL PRIDE????? Must she simply get away with it because she is the wife of.....? NO WAY, HIGHWAY!!!! .... Not from my end, at least!!! Yes, Marilou, I am not only angry, I am infuriated!!! And I hope, I can add to the the public outrage out there, even just on FB, because I feel, that in so doing, I can help build that much needed public pressure and critical mass to compel these public figures to shape up, or ship out!!! ... Enough is enough!!! ...They should stop treating the Filipino public as stupid, uncaring and insensitive!!!
