Ive generally tried to turn the other cheek and be a nice guy. However, theres a situation that has come to my attention that has made me feel as though Im being taken advantage of. If youve known someone for 7 years and theyve continually backstabbed you (I.e. not pay you for a years worth of gigs [while at the same time making a ton of money himself], stealing money from you, use your personal email for unscrupulous behavior, etc) and now is apparently talking crap behind your back to a multitude of people, how are you supposed to handle that? Just let it happen? Confront them? I feel like by being the nice guy, you allow for the possibility of being taken advantage of and Im pretty sick of being the nice guy.
