Ive got an earliest memory for some of the more mature members of the group. Weinegers (sp?) Market was on Jefferson between Coplin and Drexel on the N. side of Jeff. The place had wooden floors and big barrels of pickles and all sorts of good smelly stuff at the meat counter. My dad used to get pickled pigs feet there. Old man W. as I remember was short and bald with an accent. They tore the original down to build a bank and if memory serves there was a second try a block up between Drexel and Lenox just past Penningtons Hardware. I think the Savarine Hotel was on that block too. This is way back.
