Ive got an email reply from an Assistant Director at Kirklees regarding WHY WE as residents dont need to be told about important things that affect US as Mirfield residents and feel I need to share it, so apologies firstly for the length of the quotes from the said Assistant Director. This piece relates solely to the Bellway planning application for 134 houses, however there is an example of where WE dont need information relating to the Leeds Road application either! So I quote regarding the Bellway application Due to the scale of the scheme it was felt appropriate to publicise this additional information to those residents in the immediate vicinity of the site to whom it would be most relevant I.e. those properties who received letters when the application was originally submitted. It was no considered an effective use of resources to publicise this additional information more widely to all those objectors who have already commented beyond those in the immediate vicinity or re-notify consultees including the Town Council. So there we have it Mirfield Town Council isnt important and nor are the residents who bother to write a letter of complaint to Kirklees or any objection letters. Funnily and scarily enough I dont remember any of us voting in this Assistant Director at Kirklees but Im sure he wont be losing any sleep on 70+ a year salary and gold played pension!!!!!!!
