Ive got one more remix to finish today, then Im going on a hiatus from making club/EDM music... Its been a love/hate relationship in recent years, where Electronic Dance Music once looked limitless and infinitely promising, its now become harder and harder to inject any sort of envelope pushing creativity into it... And to be frank, the club structured (aka DJ friendly) formula has become tiresome. 16 bars of this, 32 bars of that. white noise sweep to a drop. Yawn. Its great theres a new generation of kids comfortable within the box, and that must be a nice perspective to have. I was there once, be it 14-15 years ago now. Enjoy it! If you are following my recent album, and my free bits on Soundcloud (Clarity for example) nothings really going to be different for those folks. This is where my heads at. However, for those of you whove been there since my remix of Space Maneuvers and my Polytechnic Recordings remixes, please understand that this is creative evolution. One cant continue to churn out the same repetitive works their whole lives. Im leaving you over 60 Club originals and remixes in my wake. Pretty impressive I think... and a nice little legacy of what once was in the Progressive community. ... Or maybe I just need to make more Drum N Bass :P C.
