Ive had a bit of a set back following my surgery. As a reminder; I had the catheter removed on Thursday of last week then Friday evening I came down with a fever, chills and severe, uncontrollable shakes. Phoned the 24-hour nurse service and was advised to get to ER. Blood work and a cat scan showed a UTI and a mass near one of the incisions. The mass turned out to be a small patch of accumulated drainage. :) They admitted me and kept me in house until today and loaded me up with intravenous antibiotics and gave me blood thinner shots in my stomach every day to prevent blood clots. Got home about an hour a go; tired, aggravated, sore, but knowing how blessed I am. Barbs Dad was transferred to the Tennessee State Veterans Home this morning. Its a great facility with very caring people. Her Mother fell yesterday getting out of a wheelchair at the rehab center. X-rays showed only a deep shoulder bruise. Were not sure what the next steps are for her. As of today, Barb is wearing a cape. My oldest brother and his wife arrive on Friday from Ohio and will be here for all of next week. The doctors told me to take it easy and rest for the next week or so. Look out recliner, here I come. :)
