Ive had a few more frustrating days than today (I think, but its almost impossible to imagine one.) In honor of the move one of the things we did was replace my 25 plus year old mattress with an entirely new bed. Moved up to king. Found a great bed at IKEA, unfortunately their beds are EASTERN King NOT Cal King. I was spot on when I bought the sheets and mattress. I triple checked everything. BUT the stuff I wanted from Costco I had to order on-line because they only carry the CAL King in the store. No sweat, everything I wanted was at the web site AND the shipping was free.We carried the boxes of IKEA bed up to our lovely new home. The mattress was due today so I assembled the bed. Its a lot heavier than any prior bookcase, filing cabinet etc I have diligently assembled. A LOT HEAVIER. But before the sun went down my bed was up and waiting. The mattress arrived in a box, rolled up and compressed, but when we carefully cut open the wrapping almost immediately swelled up to full kingliness. The only problem is that its a CAL King AND DOESNT FIT THE BED. The order has the correct model number. The packing list has the correct model number. The do not remove tag, has no model number but says CKing AND has Cal King dimensions. Its beautiful. It feels yummy under my butt. But it not only doesnt fit, ITS FRIDAY NIGHT, and I have no idea how long it will take to fix this. I have a sinking suspicion its easier to get an effing new bed and replace the sheets. I have had a monumentally obnoxious week attempting to get phone/internet service. Skipping over all the intervening steps, I was expecting a delivery via UPS today of the equipment being sent to me by Comcast to complete the installation be cause I didnt want to pay them $100 to plug in a GD modem. The box from Comcast was supposed to be here wed. They shipped it on wed. It was due today. UPS says they delivered it today at the same time as the mattress. NOPE. its still sitting in a corner of the truck somewhere even though the computer thinks it here providing me phone service.
