Ive had a few people already ask about the page, what its intentions are, why it was created, how they can help, and if there will be events. I am so happy to have so much input already! It just shows who really WANTS to spread the love! So here goes: This page was created for everyone! From those of us who know what it really means to be enlightened to those who dont have any idea what were talking about. I want to spread our enlightenment throughout the community and around our local environment! To spread love, connectedness, togetherness, peace, and make our community a better place! There is always more to learn and more to teach but it will only be done with each other! We want to organize events/activities to help spread these vibes and to have a great time no matter what! Again I love the feedback already and I would love to hear your ideas on what we can do to accomplish this! This is why the page was created! Please read and share this story so that we can do more to prevent these kinds of things from continuing between us! This morning I woke up to a post on my newsfeed with a video of the coin flip from the Reeths-Puffer vs. Mona Shores game. After the flip and the call the Mona Shores captains refused to shake the hands of the RP players. At first I was upset by the display of sportsmanship from the players, but as I read the comments I found out there was much more to the video that what it showed. As I began reading the comments and noticed the banter between people from all ages about why the coin flip ended the way it did. A student from Mona Shores took his own life earlier in the year and apparently there was something said on a social networking site that concerned the matter before the game sometime. With these schools already having a big rivalry, it sparked even more pre-game banter and an even bigger fire that led to why these Mona Shores players turned there back to the RP players. Not because the captains from RP were the ones that were bad mouthing anyone, but to make a statement to the school, as if the whole RP community was to blame for one action. Continuing to read the comments, it only tore me up more that people were only placing blame. The parents, the kids, the coaches, the schools, the players....all being blamed for things concerning the sportsmanship and ethics of the two schools. I could only ask WHY?! WHY are we even talking about this? WHY are we continuing this and creating such a divide between 2 local communities? WHY cant we accept each other? WHY do we look down on each other so much? WHY do we have to be better than another person? And after thinking about it, EVERYONE IS TO BLAME! Yes, even myself. And you, who made a comment on the post. And you, who was at the game watching. And you, who coached these kids. And you, parents and communities. And even you, who did not know anything about this story before you read it... We all need to love and respect each other! There is very little of it going around. People have become so wrapped up in their lives and how bad times have been and how theyre going to pay the bills that they have forgotten the most important thing in life. We ALL NEED to open up to each other more. We NEED to be nicer to each other. We NEED to take responsibility for what we have become and change it! I would like for this to be a page that can keep the harmony in our spirits and show us the way to love and respect each other. I have seen a change in my life in the last year and I know what has helped me see this! I know there are more of you out there and I want and need your help to do it! ______________REMAIN CONNECTED_____________ ~Enlightening Muskegon~
