Ive had a few people ask me about my 100% Quote. It came from a conversation with a fellow filmmaker. They thought they were doing everything they could to get their dream, they were giving 100%. All they could see was Im doing 100%, I cant do more than that. The problem is giving 100%, doesnt include sacrifice. If you ever wondered where the extra 10% comes from in giving 110% its sacrifice. Its giving up some thing for your dream. Sadly the ratio of % is not always even. Sometimes you need to give up 30% of something to get 10% more toward your dream. No, this is not fair. Life is not fair. It is not supposed to be. The sooner we all understand fair is completely relative, the faster we can begin building our dreams. Some of us have paid more than others, or at least we think we have, but we have ALL sacrificed something. If you dont know my 100% Quote, here it is. “You can’t give up and you can’t slow down. Fine, you’re giving me 100%, but do you know what that means? That means the person that has the gig you want is giving 110%. They must be, because you are going 100% and you don’t have it. Thats okay it is fine if its too much for you. If you want to settle for where you are, that’s fine… but never slow down, and never stop. The person who wants your gig and your dream gig… they’re doing 120%... because they need to show people they are better than both of you.
