Ive had a number of questions in the last few weeks about the CSW - TopicsExpress

Ive had a number of questions in the last few weeks about the CSW newbie prize, so Ill post a reminder and clarification. For the last few months I have been offering a $100 prize to any TWL player without an existing NASPA or WGPO CSW rating who participates in a CSW tournament and gains rating. Players with an existing CSW rating do not qualify, so Kieran OConnor, to answer your question, Bradley Robbins does not qualify. Matt Canik, Scott Garner, and Norman Wei, all playing in NOLA, however, DO qualify. Provided that the prize limit has not been reached. Because I do not have unlimited funds, and I am not even working right now, I am awarding no more than three prizes per month. If the number of players gaining rating at a particular tournament exceeds the number of awailable prizes, I will use wins-over-expectation to break the ties. If a tournament ends on Saturday, a winning player has precedence over a tourney ending on Sunday or Monday. If two tournaments, like NOLA and Durham, end on the same day, actual end time will not be a factor. So Amalan in Durham will have an equal chance as the NOLA players, regardless of which tourney ends first. Regarding the Albany ME and any other tourneys that might begin at the end of a month, the prizes count for the end month. This prize is in effect up to, but not including, the NSC, or untul I decide to end it. If I get cancer, for example, or my car is stolen, or I have not found work in a few months, you can expect the prize to end. WINNERS ------------- Liam Hopfensperger Andrew Malaby Sean Wrona Gabriel Gauthier-Shalom
