Ive had a very busy weekend and week so far. Jan came to visit for a few days. Our friends Nina and Ed Gammons and their neighbors Bob and Karen Maki brought the best beef ribs with delicious side dishes and apple crisp. Ed was the master meat chef. Yummy. Monday night we went to Grant and Sally Amanos where we ate delicious vegetable beef soup with Sandy Michael. Really tasty. Lots of good conversations around the table both evenings. Jan took out the passenger seat of the van and figured out how to secure me and the motorized chair in the spot vacated by the passenger seat. Wednesday Cathy picked me up at 7:45 am and drove me to Boise where we picked up Jan and had two doctor appointments--one with a occupational therapist and one with a physical therapist We learned some very helpful ideas and might be getting a new and much better commode/shower chair. We had lunch at the Ram. This morning Cathy came out for breakfast and brought the caregiver books out for me to read. She reported on the progress David, Jan and Cathy are making on creating a Care Givers Circle for my care and company. Friends are really stepping up to help me in the later stages of this ALS. This afternoon Debbie drove me to Wingers for lunch and then onto the theater to watch St. Vincents. Great movie starring Bill Murray. Tomorrow evening my longtime friend John Cervinsky will arrive to spend the weekend with me. I am so looking forward to his visit.
