Ive had dogs all my life, ever since I was about 2 old. We had several various breeds and cross-breeds when I was a child. But my first introduction to the sighthound group was when I rescued a sickly cross-breed, which apparently was part Whippet. I realize and respectfully honor the fact that some people arent able to be there at this difficult time. But for me, I wanted the final words and feelings to be those of love and for him to hear that he was a Good Zoomer, as I stroked him gently for the last time. Its not an easy thing to do, but I never really looked at it as a choice with my dogs. I had to be there. My next dream dog, the Sakuki, ancestor to the Greyhound, and believed to be the oldest domesticated breed in history. Someday...
