Ive had eczema ever since I was a child (even up to this day!) and I abhorred my skin ever since because of it. I could if I wanted to, but I was never confident wearing clothes that will show even a hint of my extremities. But this unfortunate situation lead me to discover my style as a person and inspired me to wear clothes that have concealed my insecurities but at the same time lifted my self-esteem. Ive learned how to exude beauty and confidence without having to show a lot of skin. Ive mastered the art of dressing up and down without having to conform to mediocrity. (No offense to those who flaunt what they have AND I truly admire these people for doing so) but this is just but appropriate for me and my insecurities, most especially now that I have a daughter (who will probably imitate the way I speak, act, dress up etc. sooner or later.) The only Beauty Legacy I could pass on to her is learning how to love and most importantly ACCEPT all of her entire being without having to comply or sacrifice even a drop of her self-worth to the standards being set by other people. I know that there is more to me as a person than my eczema and I wouldnt let my flaws dictate what I can and cannot be. I know that my decisions in life will greatly affect my daughters choices and that is why I am doing my best to set a good example for her. I am not perfect, I will never be. But I will never stop trying to be the BEST person for her. Modesty, confidence, self-acceptance and humility---these are what I consider as real luxury nowadays but there is in no doubt that it really begins at home.
