Ive had this song stuck in my head all day. A song about the struggles of the working man doing all that he can. Coming from a family that has put food on the table from labor in factories, refineries, and plants for generations as well as working in them myself the song really gets to me. Though Ive been lucky to have not had the experience of losing a loved one or having one disabled due to an incident. Every day when these men and women head to work it may be the last time their family sees them. They work long hard hours to provide for their loved ones, to keep the mortgage paid, the tax collectors satisfied, and to put food on the table. These are the men and women who keep the country running, producing fuel, fertilizers, and the chemicals that we use every day. The government is ran by politicians who for the most part know little of this life and it seems care little for the people who live it. They have their agendas, their demographic that they cater to, but few seem to ever acknowledge these men and women. I believe that is a real shame. It takes all kinds of people to keep this great nation going and I think the lawyers in D.C. seem to forget that. Please remember these people and their sacrifices, the sacrifices of their families the next time you listen to some silver tonged politician. Do they honestly know the struggles of the working men and women of this country? How did they pay for that Ivy league education? I paid for my college education my sweat, and the sweat of a family that may not have much but wanted something better for me. Thats who I care about cause thats who I am. https://youtube/watch?v=pYdvxBxHX2U
