Ive heard some say that Christmas just doesnt feel right this year because theres so much pain and heartache in the atmosphere. Missing loved ones, bad financial situations and uncertainty definitely takes a toll on us. A few years ago I mightve agreed and spent this month sobbing and fighting off the anxiety. But, Ive since learned I dont have to fight anything. Its ok to feel what Im feeling; God has feelings too! Instead, Im mindful not to let my feelings consume me and I let His holy presence consume me. Dedicating one of my favorite songs (circa 1990, thanks to Judith DAmbra) to my friends and family on the force, and all of you who are desperately in need of the Prince of Peace this season.
