Ive heard that private prison companies make money from the process, but this explains it and its quite horrific. They have to keep locking up more people to make money. Some states have signed contracts to guarantee 100% occupation to receive compensation. We are #1 in the world for most imprisoned and many are children. The prisons are unsanitary and literally torture chambers. Although crime rates decrease, the prison companies need more locked up to make their money and use criminal and extreme methods to increase the prison population. All this has happened since the 90s. What are we going to do about this? The privatized prison companies are serious criminals! We are 5% of the world population and 25% of the inmate population.
