Ive heard various advice about using hot water to make ice, like saying that the ice is more clear or last longer or freezes faster, and often wondered if it was true. Apparently, there is some real science to say that hot water will, in fact, freeze faster than cold water under some circumstances; the article concedes that it doesnt always work, depending other factors, like atmospheric pressure, humidity, etc. And I get it now -- the excited moving molecules of the hot water lose their heat faster when suddenly exposed to cold temps while the cold water, already huddled together, need a little more time to time to give up the remains of their fluidity.
