Ive held out on announcing my next move as for my nursing career. I spent much time contemplating my options with prayer. Ive been employed for the past 8 years working has a phlebotomist and a SNT in the CCU at palmetto health Richland as many of you know. I started in the lab at 19 with no experience. I was so intimated joining a group of woman who drew blood longer than I was alive! Tina Holloman Cox, Barbara BeeBee Gray, Jonathan Blackmon, Larry W Moore, and many many more took me under their wing to help prefect my skills! I soon volunteered to try hard sticks and found the challenge exciting. I also had many fun days laughing with coworkers Natalie, Melissa, and many more. second shift became so close we spent more Time together than outside work - We loved to call it The after work special. I worked for a woman who many liked and of course didnt (that comes with the territory) of a supervisor Paula Vanhoose Lundy! She was an amazing supervisor by giving sound Christian advice in things that may Have not been worked related! Although I worked extremely hard.. I had one down fall.. I could NEVER be on time. As I entered into nursing school I soon realized the importance of arriving on time.thanks Paula for that hard lesson at the time! Then I entered into a whole new experience joining the CCU in the heart center. I was again nervous because I was new to this type of care. Kameron Robinson Glover was one of the first nurses I worked with giving a bed bath...she worked around the Monitors like it was nothing. As I trained with Denise, I thought how the heck am I ever goin to be as fast as she work?! My coworkers took time to teach me things. I loved working in the CCU. I will be leaving Richland with many great memories :). Starting Sept 22 I will be joining the Cardiac Tele at Providence. I am excited for this new adventure and hoping its a stepping stone into a critical care unit in a few years :). I am truly humble to start Working as a nurse
