Ive just come home from visiting refugees in one of our concentration camps, and I have a question. Is it just me or does anyone else get the sense that in the past 7 years or so, the world has become a much more irrational, violent, insane, cruel, heartless place? I dont just mean our appalling treatment of refugees, but the insanity of fracking, the violent overthrow of democratically elected governments in Syria, Ukraine, Libya etc, the bilge we are fed by the media, the self-serving politicians with their snouts in the trough everywhere feeding crap to the ignorant masses to promote their wars, the impunity of the current genocide of Christians in the middle east and Palestinians in Gaza.........Its as if the gates of hell have opened up in the world. And yet, in the face of all this horror, we are still continually being bombarded with advertisements trying to sell us crap we dont need, as though heaping treasure in the last days will somehow convince us that everything is OK.
