Ive just had the joint manager of one of the teams I refereed this - TopicsExpress

Ive just had the joint manager of one of the teams I refereed this morning describe me/my performance as woeful over on Twitter and he even copied in the County FA to tell them so. Now, Im not perfect and sometimes I make mistakes but Im pretty sure that a referee of over 16 years experience who has been selected by the County FA to officiate at 6 of their cup finals in that time cant be described as woeful?? Maybe said manager needs to look at his own team? A team who lost 4-1, incidentally. He may complain that I didnt want to talk to him at half time? What I didnt want to do was be talked AT and listen to his bullshit, asking me to explain something that didnt need to be explained to him. He may complain that I allowed a perfectly good goal in law to his opponents when his own assistant had his flag raised? The fact is, his team got caught napping, and once again grumbling to me about a decision rather than concentrating on the game. He may complain that I issued NO cautions in the game? This is down to my refereeing style and trying to use my experience to referee with common sense, my whistle and my mouth? I may get in trouble for posting this but I think I deserve a right to reply. Week in and week out I see people on social media complaining about how shit their referee was and Id say that about 80% of the time, their team lost. Referees are made out to be scapegoats for peoples underperformance and it needs to stop. Im not denying there are some shocking referees out there, but there are many more shocking players. Rant over.....
