Ive just recently discovered that my newly painted extension in Crown Matt Emulsion may be the cause of what happened to me this month (twice). I know I am allergic to MI as I had skin tests 5 years ago. Till this month Ive managed to keep this stuff out of my house, but apparently paint manufacturers dont have to put it on their products as an ingredient under UK regulations. The email reply from Crown today confirmed they use it in their paint, the tin and the data sheet have no word of it being in there. Am currently on antihistamines daily and have a supply of steroids for when the swelling starts:-( Am using cool eye packs and the windows are staying open at night. Does anyone know how long it takes to go away or do you have to paint over/remove the offending paint?
