Ive just spent the last 4 days with the lovely ladies of Aussie Beading Retreats at Warrambui Retreat and Conference Centre in NSW. A great venue for the retreat and we were very well looked after. I had a wonderful time learning new techniques and ideas, catching up with friends and making new friends. I did a super fun earthenware clay workshop but wont be able to show you results until after they have been fired and I get them back. These pictures of the clay beads are before they were decorated. I cant wait to show you the before and after photos! The bead stitches shown here were all new to me, Im looking forward to experimenting and improving as I get more experienced with them! The top tube is African Helix stitch, the middle is bead and crystal Netting and the tube at the bottom is Russian Spiral. Each retreat has a different theme and we have a theme night and costume party, the theme for this one was Great Gatsby so we had a ball. I crocheted a cloche hat and selected a 1920s inspired outfit and mingled with a gangster and his molls and numerous flappers and had a brilliant night! Im already looking forward to the next one I am able to go to!
