Ive just wrote to Ricky Gervais, Wonder if he will be able to make my dream come true? I dream of a TV event full of animal loving celebrities called Animals In Need. I dream of millions of pounds being raised to help animal centres in the UK help more abused and neglected animals. It should be possible with people like Simon Cowell, Brian May, Martin Clunes etc calling on everyone they know. It could happen! Couldnt it? Here is what I wrote: Hi Ricky, Is there any way you can help to set up the animal rescue equivelant of Childreen In Need please? ANIMALS IN NEED. You know more than most how as rescue centre caring for the most abused and neglected animals we struggle every day to stay open to help more animals. We dont receive any support from Government and have to raise our own funds to stay open. I have often dreamed of a TV event called Animals In Need where all animal loving celebrities like yourself, Simon Cowell, Brian May and Martin Clunes to mention but a few, come together to help raise very much needed funds. There are so many childrens charities, cancer charities even charities to help overseas but who is doing something to care about our animals right here? We are supposed to be a nation of animal lovers but when you see the sights I see each day here in rescue im finding it very hard to believe that. Please help the nation find its heart again for animals. I will do ANYTHING (and I mean ANYTHING) to make this happen. Rescue centres all over the country are struggling to cope with the amount of animals that need help (Ive even got 43 cats at home because our centre couldnt help anymore). Imagine how many more we could help if we could raise more and build more! Please help me to help more animals Ricky. Show me the way and lets make this happen. Much Respect, John.
