Ive listened for years to claims of Obamacare being socialized medicine or a government takeover of healthcare. Prior to the ACA, Ive had to listen to outright lies about healthcare in general, that medical malpractice is a major driver of costs, that overutilization is a symptom of defensive medicine rather than the incentivized result of a pay-per-procedure billing system, that the US is a net importer of healthcare patients or that we subsidize single-payer in the rest of the world. Yet, *now* ACA opponents are outraged at dishonesty on Capitol Hill? Give me a break. Theyve jumped on Grubers soundbytes because they fit the narrative of liberal intellectuals vs the simple common folk. Is this newfound concern for honesty going to stop Limbaugh from repeating the phrase death panel or Ted Cruz from trying to convince people that Obama is going to shut down their churches? Somehow, I doubt it--Morgan Foust, showing everybody how its done.
