Ive lived through some things that have changed me forever. Somehow, it has not killed my spirit... or my ability to love. I dont know why, or how. But tonight as I sit here discussing that horrible night almost 2 years ago, I am somehow grateful and just so glad to be alive. It could have ended for me that night. I know Im so blessed and so lucky. I just have moments that I realize how truly thankful I need to be. To the policeman who saved me- thank you isnt enough. To the off duty firefighters who came and moved me the next day for my safety- I thank you. To the Victims advocate and countless police officers in Huntington that stood beside me- I thank you. There is so much good in the world that can never be lessoned by the bad. Have faith in the good... and fight with everything in you to survive no matter what you face. Your life is worth it.
