Ive looked at all the funny Zach Walters stories, Ive laughed and cried at all the ones told yesterday and into the night last night.....believe me I could tell funny Zach stories with the best of you but Im not going to, Im going to tell you all about the Zach that we got the amazing privilege of loving. I lost my brother years ago to an accident, weeks before that he had stuffed Zach into an ice chest filled with icy water, during the time of visitation and funeral for my brother Zach who was only around 7 or so hung onto my girls like a shirt. They didnt make a move that he wasnt by their side watching them as he has always said. Every time my Memaw was out and about with us, Zach was the one who held her arm as to so she wouldnt trip and if she did I got you Memaw he would say. Our Zach spent almost 7 weeks back and forth to the conway hospital last year as Williams dad was in ICU, he would say what do I need to do today, feed, take Bub with me, take Kenz to ball practice? And he did, he stayed at our house night after night so he could make sure he watched them and Bub got up for school good and didnt fight with his sisters about doing school work and things. I woke up one afternoon in the waiting room to Zach just setting beside me, watching me as I took a quick nap and he wasnt going to let anyone wake me. Every year come wagon race time, he was ready to load and set panels with William, couldnt wait! Our Zach carried Sis into the emergency room running when she had hurt her leg, and set on the bed with her all afternoon and into the night, wouldnt even leave to eat. Zach would come to check on Nanny after she stopped getting out much, brought that new trailer so Cowpa could check it out. Our Zach has carried Kenz around on his hip like she couldnt walk ever since she could, even up to last week. The Zach we have loved stood beside his best friend 2 weeks ago as she said I DO, not before many Cody better do this and not do this talks, yes he stood on her side and he stood there tall and proud. I could tell 3736283 funnies on that sweet sweet boy, I could, but I chose to share his heart because as big as he was, his body was no where near as big as that heart he had. I thank you Nikki Walters and David Wilber Walters for allowing us to share in the life of this amazing boy for all these years, I thank you God for loaning him to us all, because we know he was always yours. I know that in all my years I have never known hurt like this, my kids lost their brother, our community lost part of its glue, our closest friends lost their whole world....God just please be with us all.
