Ive mentioned this before, but when I get stressed I carry my tension in between my shoulder blades to such a degree that I pop my own ribs out of place. This week was one such week where my ribs were out of whack. I couldnt even take an in-breath without pain. Add to that, I had a kink in my neck that Ive had for the last six weeks (I figured it would eventually resolve, and much like a fire alarm that goes off for ten minutes, it doesnt seem as loud the longer you listen to it). Well, after two chiropractic adjustments and a fabulous massage from Melissa Harth this week, I am back to the land of the relaxed and living. I am now making a commitment to get my back adjusted every two weeks and get a massage once a month. I wish I could do more than that, but its just not feasible yet. BUT, I am NOT going to endure pain like this ever again if it can be prevented. Stress really takes a toll on my body. I am also making a daily commitment to do yoga and more meditation and deep breathing - something that I can do anytime, nearly anywhere, and at no cost. I just keep FORGETTING to do it because I get too busy and too scattered to remember. Ive dialed down a lot of the chaos of my life and reduced my stress levels significantly, but I still have more work ahead of me to get to where I should be.
