Ive never cooked turkey at Thanksgiving before, so Im just messing around, testing stuff. One of the ingredients for the pie crust is browned butter, an ingredient that hithertofore I have been unaware of. I made some, and it smelled so awesome that I immediately made popcorn and drizzled 66 gms of browned butter over it. It was the best popcorn Ive ever had. Screw turkey, were having popcorn for Thanksgiving dinner! My testing did reveal that two sticks of unsalted butter will yield only about 70 gms of browned butter. Ill need three sticks for my pie shell. Just the first line matters for the purposes of this post, but the whole song is great late-period Replacements.
