Ive never openly discussed this topic before, but this article was extremely relatable and too good to not share. And quite frankly, I think way too many people avoid this issue far too often. Even today, I can still remember every sly comment said to me regarding my weight and size. It took me years to overcome my self-image insecurities after being constantly scrutinized for how sickeningly skinny I apparently looked. However, it wasnt my choice to look that small, nor is it anyone elses (for the most part). I couldnt help the way I looked until my body finally changed at the age of 16. Though I am now grown, confident, happy, and free of insecurities, there are others who are not. And its not just skinny people. This article reflects on some of the naive judgements and assumptions commonly made about all types of body shapes and sizes. With that being said, please read this article before anyone decides to tell a person to go eat a hamburger/salad or gain/lose some weight, etc. Hopefully itll open some eyes about how misplaced and terrible those comments truly are.
