Ive never seen this video of militant Michael Jackson strongly telling the truth about the music industry and how it treated African American artists. According to the video this is 2001 and recorded at the National Action Network headquarters in Harlem. He also discusses how sharply the industry tide turned against him once he started breaking Elvis records. Spike Lees excellent documentary, Bad 25, also deals with this and the backlash Michael experienced after Thrillers success and he bought all of the rights to the Beatles song catalog (which also contained Little Richards publishing). h/t to I Love Old School Music
