Ive never talked much about these horses of my past, so here goes. The first sorrel horse was Angel - she was a 15.1 hand TWH mare, she was a green broke mare I bought for $75 from someone in KY who couldnt ride anymore and wanted to slim down. Riding wise, she was a high stepping ready to go gal, smooth as silk but I couldnt find a horse to keep up with her gait! She gave me my colt, Bandit, that yall are familiar with. :) The second palomino horse was Sunshine - one of my first horses, she was an aged 14.3 hand Appendix bred QH mare, she was about as broke as broke could get, do anything you asked without any hesitation. She was my go to horse for my novice buddies to ride. She now lives with a family with four kids and shes spoiled rotten! The third buckskin horse was Blaze - my third stud, he was a 14.3 hand APHA who you would have swore was a gelding unless you checked. He was right there with Rhino on how mellow/easy going he was. He was wonderful under saddle and although he wasnt the best looking or biggest, Im so glad we have a super foal out of him. The fourth red dun horse was Chief - my first stud, a rescue, who was a mere 12.1 hands when I got him as a long yearling. He ended up maturing just under 14.2 hands. Smart as a tack, good natured, and smooth. He wasnt a speed demon by any means but he could go all day at a lope and still want to go some more. One of the first horses I trained from the ground up with no previous saddle time. It was an awesome journey :) -Smokey.
