Ive never understood why people take the side of the government when they demonize the corporations. These guys take over 4 times the money that the oil companies do, yet when they call them greedy, the people raise their pitchforks. In reality, even if the government convinces the people that we need to raise taxes on their evil profits (how American is that by the way?), the companies still arent going to pay those taxes, YOU ARE!! (They simply pass them along as operational costs) The government does not own the oil, cannot claim it on your behalf, does not explore for it, drill it, transport it, refine it, transport it again, market it or sell it. So why do they get 4 times the money than the people who do? Or the bigger question, why do we go along with it?
