Ive noticed a rather depressing preponderance of people in this country who seem addicted to the feeling of being angry and affronted. Its almost as though they cannot imagine a life without a dragon to slay, or a fool to drag to a pillory. Theyre the sort who, when faced with the sight of a sunflower breaking through a downtown sidewalk, can only speak of the evils of concrete. Ive also noticed these tend to be the sort who most often resort to snark, ridicule, and _ad hominen_ rhetoric whenever I suggest ideas of peace or compromise. I find this to be rather ironic, considering such individuals usually are also the sort most likely to repeatedly ask, what the Hell is WRONG with people today? without apparent consideration that they themselves might be among the people in question. As Elvis Costello once sang, whats so funny about peace, love, and understanding? Strong bends, but hard shatters. Good night, lovelies. *hugs the world*
